This commitment materializes in initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion, projects for the benefit of the territory and the community of its mountains, and actions to safeguard the environment through ecological production, energy efficiency, and the reduction of emissions and the use of natural resources.
Design, which is essential in every strategic choice for us, has guided our approach to sustainability.
Three years ago, we started a process of evaluating and rigorously analyzing the environmental impact of all our activities. The information, gathered in the Piquadro Group Sustainability Report, provided us with the elements to outline the path to be taken regarding inclusion, territory, and the environment. Already active for a decade in the social field with projects of the Famiglia Palmieri Foundation to promote and enhance diversity, we have also decided to allocate significant resources to the development of our local reality through the revitalization of the Corno alle Scale ski resort. However, the most important effort has inevitably focused on the protection of the planet, as we needed to redefine our own offering. With the progressive inclusion in our range of products made from ecological materials, highly-performing nylon derived from recycled waste, Piquadro is becoming increasingly green.

Piquadro has been collaborating for about ten years with the Famiglia Palmieri Foundation, born from the will of Marco Palmieri, President of Piquadro, with the aim of creating a reality that goes beyond mere assistance, focused on enhancing diversity through the creation of new business models that allow people with disabilities to express their creativity in an entrepreneurial and competitive circuit, a source of income as well as social integration. Three initiatives have been conceived and implemented so far. The first project, Happy Box, directly involved the guests of a socio-rehabilitation center in the province of Bologna who, assisted by Piquadro designers, created patterns for bags that were then sold through the company's distribution network. The proceeds from the sales of Happy Box financed the center and the purchase of equipment, including a new vehicle for transporting people with disabilities.
The "Less is more" project, subsequently launched by the Famiglia Palmieri Foundation, awarded a scholarship to the best entrepreneurial project for the inclusion of people with disabilities in traditional economic contexts. The main objective of the "Less is more" competition was to create a true social enterprise that implemented an original business project by leveraging the skills of people with disabilities and valuing their unique and often authentic abilities.

Corno alle Scale is the "neighborhood ski resort" for the provinces of Bologna, Florence, and Pistoia and represented, between the 1970s and 1990s, a driving force for tourism and well-being in the valley where Piquadro is located. A project involving Marco Palmieri has been launched to revive it, with a group of entrepreneurs, managers, professionals, and various local entities taking over the ski lifts in the mountainous area of the Bolognese Apennines, where Alberto Tomba used to train as a young boy. Flavio Roda, Tomba's former coach and currently the President of the Italian Winter Sports Federation, leads the company.
The intention is to revitalize this local reality through the development of conscious and sustainable tourism. The challenge is to find a balance between environmental sustainability and the enjoyment of nature without spoiling it.

Piquadro's new eco-friendly collections are the result of in-depth research aimed at creating products with reduced environmental impact as part of a serious sustainability project. The objective is fully achieved through the use of 100% recycled nylon, obtained from industrial waste.

Every Piquadro product in the GREEN collections features the PQ-Recycled Index®, an index created by Piquadro to indicate the ratio between the weight of recycled material used in that product and the total weight of material used to make it. The packaging and product merchandising are also made from recyclable materials.
