What this figure measures
This page reports the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) of model CA6630S137 (Recycled 15.6" Laptop Backpack for EasyJet Cabin Size), i.e. the estimated greenhouse gas emissions, expressed in kg of CO2 equivalent (kg CO2eq), associated with the product's life cycle from raw materials to end of life, excluding the use phase. The product is not currently on sale on the site.
Estimated footprint: 16.31 kg CO2eq per unit. Preliminary assessment by ACBC; SS25 collection (spring-summer 2025). The total includes a 10% tolerance, declared by ACBC to cover data gaps and make sure the offset fully covers the emissions. The per-phase values in the document add up to the total (tolerance already distributed across phases).
Standard and method
The assessment was carried out by ACBC Srl (ACBC Sustainability Services) on behalf of Piquadro. The document describes itself as a preliminary assessment, subject to changes based on modifications before the production phase.
Stated basis: internationally recognised standards (GHG Protocol, EcoInvent, Agrifoodprint), secondary data extracted from scientific life cycle assessment databases and ACBC's primary data. The document states that the methodology adheres to the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol; the methodology page reproduces the covers of the GHG Protocol "Product Life Cycle Accounting and Reporting Standard" and the "GHG Protocol Scope 2 Guidance".
Method steps described by ACBC: system boundaries definition (from raw materials to end of life, excluding the use phase); data collection on the product (composition, suppliers, material origin); component weighing with Driwei and Bil2b Bombelli scales; emission factor identification based on component composition; CO2 impact calculation also accounting for production waste, with secondary data filling gaps; results documentation in a report.
Scope of the analysis
Phases included (system boundaries from raw materials to end of life, excluding use):
- Raw materials
- Manufacturing
- Transportation
- Packaging
- End of life
Phase excluded: the use of the product by the consumer.

Analysis conditions stated by ACBC
- Raw Materials: The analysis excludes material loss rates and wastage during production
- Transportation: If specific transportation data are not provided, we adopt logically better, feasible, and more sustainable transport options for the calculations
- Packaging: The impact of secondary packaging is not included in the analysis
- Manufacturing: The impact related to manufacturing is calculated using energy consumption data as communicated by the providers. Where such data are not available, the country's energy mix is used to perform the analysis
- Ocean and Road Transport: Both ocean freight and road transportation are considered for outbound logistics, based on the most sustainable options available

What this document does not say
The PCF report is an estimate of the product's carbon footprint: it is not a climate-neutrality certification of the product and does not attest to reductions or offsets. The estimate is preliminary and includes a precautionary tolerance.
The site page Carbon neutral states that the Piquadro Group measures its impact, acts to reduce it and offsets it by supporting certified emission removal projects (the CIKEL and FLORESTA VERDE REDD+ deforestation-prevention initiatives in the Brazilian Amazon), and that in this way it achieved carbon neutrality in the Group's activities (Scope 1 and 2) for fiscal year 24/25. The same page states that the CO2 emissions generated by the green product lines were calculated according to the GHG protocol and offset on the basis of production, with an extra 15% to cover possible calculation errors, through Verra VCS-certified carbon credits supporting the Floresta Verde project, and that the operation is repeated every year; it lists the "Compensated products" and publishes the Verra certificates (Business Activity Offset 24/25; Product Offset to 31/03/25 and to 31/03/24).
This model does not appear in the "Compensated products" list on that page.
