CORNO ALLE SCALE, A MARVEL TO BE PROTECTED
The mountains of the Tuscan-Emilian Appenines, covered with snow in the winter and with luxuriant vegetation in the summer, are reflected on the Piquadro headquarter’s windows in Gaggio Montano. The peak of Corno alle Scale overlooks the regional park and the ski district where Alberto Tomba trained as a boy. A marvel of nature that was asking to be supported. And Piquadro responded.

TOGETHER FOR REBIRTH
What was formed by the long-standing friendship and a common love for their mountains of Piquadro Founder Marco Palmieri and President of the Italian Federation of Winter Sports is the association that, by involving a large number of entrepreneurs and local companies, led to the creation of a new company to manage the skiing facilities of Bologna’s most beloved ski resort.

THE SUSTAINABILITY AND DEVELOPMENT CHALLENGE
The aim is the rebirth of this local reality by devloping an aware and sustainable tourism that allows young people to remain in the homeland without having to seek work elsewhere. The challenge is to find a balance between environmental sustainability and enjoyment of nature without disfiguring it. Or better still, by developing a new and heartfelt environmental sensitivity.

“Driven as I am by passion for my land and a sense of gratitude, I decided to take part in the joint efforts of local entrepreneurs to relaunch Corno alle Scale. This mountain must not become depopulated. Its young people have to plan their lives there and not be forced to leave to find jobs and a better future”
Marco Palmieri, Chairman e CEO Piquadro
