What this figure measures
This page reports the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) of model BV6381C2O (Modular duffel bag in recycled fabric), i.e. the estimated greenhouse gas emissions, expressed in kg of CO2 equivalent (kg CO2eq), associated with the product's life cycle from raw materials to end of life, excluding the use phase. The product is not currently on sale on the site.
Estimated footprint: 21.21 kg CO2eq per unit. ACBC assessment based on literature data and proxy estimates; season not stated in the document; document dated 2024-01-19. The total includes a 15% tolerance, declared by ACBC to cover data gaps and make sure the offset fully covers the emissions.
Standard and method
The assessment was carried out by ACBC Srl on behalf of Piquadro. The document states that the calculation is based on literature data and proxy estimates and that the result may deviate from the measured value.
Stated basis: internationally recognised standards (not named), secondary data extracted from scientific life cycle assessment databases, and ACBC's primary data. The document does not name the GHG Protocol.
Method steps described by ACBC: system boundaries definition (from raw materials to end of life, excluding the use phase); data collection on the product (composition, suppliers, material origin); component weighing with Driwei and Bil2b Bombelli scales; emission factor identification based on component composition; CO2 impact calculation also accounting for production waste, with secondary data filling gaps; results documentation in a report.
Scope of the analysis
Phases included (system boundaries from raw materials to end of life, excluding use):
- Raw materials
- Manufacturing
- Transportation
- Packaging
- End of life
Phase excluded: the use of the product by the consumer.

Analysis conditions stated by ACBC
- The impact arising from raw materials does not include data regarding materials loss rates and wastage during production
- Road transport was the transport mode accounted for in the inbound logistics phase
- The impact attached to packaging does not include secondary packaging
- The impact attached to manufacturing is based on the approximate energy consumption per bag
- Ocean freight and road transport were the transport modes accounted for in the outbound logistics phase

What this document does not say
The PCF report is an estimate of the product's carbon footprint: it is not a climate-neutrality certification of the product and does not attest to reductions or offsets. The estimate is preliminary and includes a precautionary tolerance.
The site page Carbon neutral states that the Piquadro Group measures its impact, acts to reduce it and offsets it by supporting certified emission removal projects (the CIKEL and FLORESTA VERDE REDD+ deforestation-prevention initiatives in the Brazilian Amazon), and that in this way it achieved carbon neutrality in the Group's activities (Scope 1 and 2) for fiscal year 24/25. The same page states that the CO2 emissions generated by the green product lines were calculated according to the GHG protocol and offset on the basis of production, with an extra 15% to cover possible calculation errors, through Verra VCS-certified carbon credits supporting the Floresta Verde project, and that the operation is repeated every year; it lists the "Compensated products" and publishes the Verra certificates (Business Activity Offset 24/25; Product Offset to 31/03/25 and to 31/03/24).
This model does not appear in the "Compensated products" list on that page.
