"Leather or fabric?" has different answers depending on what matters most to you: weight on the shoulder, rain, care over time, looks. What really changes between leather and fabric
- Material and composition: the sheet declares "leather" (bovine origin) or "fabric" with the composition of the outer part; for Corner 2.0 backpacks it is 55% PU and 45% polyester. The lining is polyester for all four.
- Treatment: for fabrics the sheet declares "water-resistant". It is an attribute of the material, not a guarantee for the whole backpack: seams and zips are not covered. For leather no treatment is declared, and the FAQ asks to dry it immediately if it gets wet.
- Net weight: for the same laptop diagonal, the two leather models in this comparison weigh more than the fabric ones. The figure is in the table.
- Care: differs by material (see below). Warranty and repair procedure are the same.

Care, warranty and repair
The guidance published in the FAQ distinguishes by material only for cleaning:
- Leather: only specific neutral wax-based products, without solvents, benzene or alcohol, applied with a soft cloth in small circular movements; never immerse; if it gets wet, dab immediately with a dry cotton cloth without rubbing. Small imperfections and grain are characteristics of the material.
- Technical fabric: damp cloth and mild soap on dirty areas, no aggressive detergents, never machine wash or immerse; air dry away from heat sources.
- Warranty: the same for all materials, 24 months against material and manufacturing defects, extended to 36 months by registering the product with the Piquadro Club. It does not cover abrasion, water, solvents, wear and tear or accidental damage.
- Repair: under warranty it is requested from the site with the repair return form and the proof of purchase; out of warranty it is possible for a fee if the spare part is available, after an estimate to approve. The procedure does not depend on the material: the sheet does not declare a different repairability for leather and fabric.
When to choose another model
- If your laptop is 14 inches: the Slim Expandable Leather Laptop Backpack 14" (Modus) is the 14-inch leather Modus with expansion and 1.104 kg empty; the Leather 14" Laptop Backpack with Fast Check Panel (Blue Square) is the 14-inch leather Blue Square with a fast-check panel and 1.003 kg.
- If you want fabric with a roll-top closure: the Rain-Ready Roll Top Laptop Backpack 15.6", from the same line, declares 26 L and 1.176 kg.
- If you want leather and fabric together: many models declare "leather and fabric"; for those the fabric composition is on the sheet. Compare the leather backpacks and the fabric backpacks.
- If you use the backpack in heavy rain: none of the four declares protection for the whole backpack. Some models (for instance the Blue Square CA6592B2BM) declare an included rain cover: look for it on the sheet.
Frequently asked questions
Does leather last longer than fabric?
The technical sheet publishes no durability data and the warranty is identical. We can only say that the care instructions differ and that leather declares no treatment against water.
Does "water-resistant" mean I can use it in the rain?
The attribute refers to the outer fabric. Seams, zips and openings are not covered by the figure: for full protection you need a rain cover, included only in the models that declare it.
Can a fabric backpack be repaired?
Yes, with the same procedure as leather: request from the site, free under warranty if the defect is covered, out of warranty for a fee after an estimate and if the spare part is available.
Conclusion
Choose leather (Blue Square CA6593B2 or Modus CA4818MOS) if you want the material, the anti-theft cable and the included Monogram Tag, accepting roughly 170 to 390 g more; choose fabric (Corner 2.0 CA6465C2OW or the fast-check CA6239W129W) if weight and the water-resistant treatment matter most.
