"Does it fit under the seat?" is the most common question before a flight with only a small bag included, and it has two different answers: a dimensional one (do the product's external measurements fit the airline's limit?) and a fare one (does my ticket include that bag?). This guide answers only the first, comparing the declared external size of four Piquadro products with the limits of the default group of the airline master used by the site, revision of 21 October 2026. The second depends on your ticket and the airline's conditions at the time of the flight: check it on the airline's website.

How to read the comparison
- External size: height × width × depth in centimetres from the technical sheet, including the full footprint (handles and wheels, as the Piquadro catalogue rule states). For expandable products the sheet does not specify the state: treat the figure as the closed size and do not expand before boarding.
- Comparison: the three product measurements, sorted from largest to smallest, must each fit within the corresponding airline limit. The bag may be rotated; it cannot be squeezed.
- Result: "under the seat" if it fits the small-bag limit; "overhead bin" if it fits only the larger cabin-bag limit; "over the limits" otherwise. For some airlines the master holds only the overhead rule.
- Date: the limits are those of revision 2026-10-21-pq02-1 of the Piquadro master, copied from the component already used on the site. It is not a date of verification with the airlines: before you leave, check your airline's website and your fare. Visitors from the US market see a different list of airlines.
The four products and their size
| Model | Declared capacity | Net weight (empty) | External size (H × W × D) | Declared laptop sleeve | Material | Lock |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Water-Resistant Cabin Travel Backpack for 14" Laptop (Corner 2.0) | 30 L | 1.163 kg | 40 × 30 × 20 cm | 14" | fabric | not declared |
| Convertible Cabin Trolley Backpack with TSA Lock (Corner 2.0) | 16.5 L | 2.054 kg | 40 × 30 × 20 cm | no laptop compartment declared | fabric | removable TSA |
| Water-Resistant 14" Laptop Backpack (Corner 2.0) | 15.5 L | 1.123 kg | 40 × 32 × 16 cm | 14" | fabric | not declared |
| Hard-Shell Cabin Luggage with TSA Lock and USB-C (PQ-Light) | 31 L | 2.445 kg | 55 × 40 × 20 cm | no laptop compartment declared | polycarbonate | TSA with USB-C and USB ports |
Water-Resistant Cabin Travel Backpack for 14" Laptop (Corner 2.0)
Water-resistant fabric backpack from the Corner 2.0 line, external size 40 × 30 × 20 cm, 30 L declared, 1.163 kg empty, 14" laptop sleeve, declared expansion. With the published size it fits under the seat for Ryanair, easyJet, Wizz Air, ITA Airways, Delta Air Lines and Emirates; it does not fit the under-seat limit of British Airways, Iberia and Air France, where it goes to the overhead bin. Product page: Water-Resistant Cabin Travel Backpack for 14" Laptop (Corner 2.0).
Convertible Cabin Trolley Backpack with TSA Lock (Corner 2.0)
Water-resistant fabric trolley backpack with the same declared external size (40 × 30 × 20 cm) but with wheels, handle and a removable TSA lock: 16.5 L declared and 2.054 kg empty, almost twice the wheel-less backpack. No laptop sleeve declared. Same dimensional results as the Water-Resistant Cabin Travel Backpack for 14" Laptop (Corner 2.0): find it as Convertible Cabin Trolley Backpack with TSA Lock (Corner 2.0).
Water-Resistant 14" Laptop Backpack (Corner 2.0)
Water-resistant fabric work backpack, 40 × 32 × 16 cm, 15.5 L, 1.123 kg, 14" laptop sleeve. Two extra centimetres of width compared with the previous model change the result: it fits under the seat for easyJet, ITA Airways, Delta Air Lines and Emirates, but not for Ryanair, Wizz Air, British Airways, Iberia and Air France, where it goes to the overhead bin. It is the best seller of the four on the online store over the last three months, and it shows why external measurements must be read one by one. Product page: Water-Resistant 14" Laptop Backpack (Corner 2.0).
Hard-Shell Cabin Luggage with TSA Lock and USB-C (PQ-Light)
Hard-shell polycarbonate cabin trolley from the PQ-Light line, 55 × 40 × 20 cm, 31 L, 2.445 kg empty, TSA lock with USB and USB-C ports, declared warranty of 10 years. It is an overhead-bin bag: it fits the limit of Ryanair, easyJet, Wizz Air, British Airways, Iberia, Lufthansa, Air China, Ethiopian Air and Aeroflot; it is over the limits for Air France, ITA Airways, Delta Air Lines, Qatar Airways and Emirates. Product page: Hard-Shell Cabin Luggage with TSA Lock and USB-C (PQ-Light).
Product × airline matrix
Dimensional result for each product, computed on the declared external size and the limits of master revision 2026-10-21-pq02-1. It does not say whether the bag is included in your fare.

When to choose another model
- If you want a soft cabin trolley: the water-resistant fabric Slim 4-Wheel Water-Resistant Cabin Suitcase (Corner 2.0) has the same declared external size as the PQ-Light (55 × 40 × 20 cm), 32 L and 2.811 kg empty: same dimensional results, no lock declared.
- If you want leather under the seat: the Leather 15.6" Laptop Travel Backpack with Trolley Strap (Tebe) declares 40 × 30 × 16 cm, 18 L and 1.763 kg: same height and width as the Corner 2.0 backpack, less depth and fewer litres.
- If your airline is not listed: the master covers the airlines shown in the compatibility table on product pages; for others compare the external size on the sheet with the limits the airline publishes.
- If your fare has a weight limit: the net weight in the table is for the empty product; the final weight depends on what you pack.
- If you need to expand the backpack: once expanded, the declared size no longer applies.
Frequently asked questions
Does "fits the limits" mean I can bring it for free?
No. The dimensional result only says that the declared external size fits the limit published in the master for that type of bag. Whether that bag is included depends on the fare you bought and on the airline's conditions at the time of the flight.
Why do two backpacks with the same size weigh so differently?
The BV6270C2OW has wheels, a telescopic handle and a lock: the declared net weight goes from 1.163 to 2.054 kg for the same external footprint, and the declared capacity drops from 30 to 16.5 litres.
Do the measurements include handles and wheels?
Yes: in the Piquadro catalogue product dimensions include the full footprint. For expandable products they apply to the closed product.
What date do the limits refer to?
To revision 2026-10-21-pq02-1 of the Piquadro master, which carries the limits already shown on product pages. It is not a check with the airlines: always verify on their website.
Conclusion
For the small under-seat bag with the strictest rules (40 × 30 × 20 cm) you need exact measurements: the CA6638C2OW backpack and the BV6270C2OW trolley backpack meet them, the CA6464C2OW work backpack does not, by two centimetres. For the overhead bin the PQ-Light BV4425PQL fits most limits in the master, but not all. In every case the fare decides: check it before you leave.
